Kingman Regional Medical Center has recently become the first hospital in northwest Arizona to purchase the da Vinci-Xi high-definition surgical system. This system allows surgeons to use advanced instruments for performing a range of minimally invasive robot-assisted procedures.
With the da Vinci Xi, the surgeon looks through a 3D high-definition camera to see a magnified image of the surgical field. This allows for a more precise view of the anatomy and enables the surgeon to clearly see and avoid critical internal structures. Seated next to the patient in the operating room, the surgeon has full control of the instruments used in a patient’s procedure.
According to its manufacturer, Intuitive, “The da Vinci system translates your surgeon’s hand movements at the console in real time, bending and rotating the instruments while performing the procedure. The tiny wristed instruments move like a human hand, but with a greater range of motion. The instrument size makes it possible for surgeons to operate through one or a few small incisions.”
Drew Albright, DO, with 电子老虎机游戏平台网址大全’s Mohave Surgical Specialists, is one of several 电子老虎机游戏平台网址大全 physicians who completed comprehensive training to work with the da Vinci Xi system and learn its capabilities.
“The da Vinci-Xi robot offers many benefits to the patient and the care team,” said Albright. “This platform magnifies the surgical field by 10 times, allowing physicians to see critical structures in much more detail. With da Vinci Xi, patients usually have a faster recovery time with less postoperative narcotic use and a quicker return to work. The robot allows us to perform ‘open’ hand movements through a minimally invasive approach with incredible precision. I’m proud that our practice can continue to expand our offerings of advanced, minimally invasive procedures right here in Kingman.
